After weeks of testing and playing through, I present a puzzle plando that isn't just about finding the solution... it's about performing the solution when the solution could be... well, really anything. From r-jumps to doorskips, from 'useless' ice clips to esoteric springball tech, this little plando has it all (besides L+R and pause abuse that is)!

Fast and Furious was intended as a difficult but fast(ish) near-suitless plando, so here's the much easier and faster variation designed to provide a vanilla-esque difficulty, while also providing quite a bit of speedrunning fun :)

This is hard in almost every conceivable way. Hard to find items to progress. Hard to kill Ridley. Ridiculous Lower Norfair. The late game is the only easy part (as is true for most seeds).

Because I recently made “Crateria Escape Room” and “Brazen Brinstar BS”, this plando focuses on... the rest of Zebes. :)

The rules are as follows:

- No major glitches, as typically defined.
- No suitless single-wall underwater walljumping.
- No chained frame-perfect pause abuse.
- *You may not use regular Bombs in any room that contains Skultera/Fish.* The byproducts of the explosions are highly toxic to them.

I've was thinking about a cute idea for a plando for the past couple weeks when I couldn't sleep. Today, I decided to quick sit down and make it. After the skeleton was planned from my late night thoughts, I just put other items in locations I knew they were accessible.

I thought it would be long, maybe even tedious, but an interesting idea.

I was wrong. It is a beast.

There's one thing that upsets me about it that I kind of want to fix, but it would be non-trivial and I don't want to spend more time on it. It wasn't the main point of the plando anyway.

Disclaimer / Warning / Spoiler / Read at your own risk I guess :

There is an extra energy tank, to make it more palatable. This was the only change I made (and corresponding things to make the change possible) after my playtest, so it's been tested without. If you want this truly terrible experience, then try skipping the first energy tank you see. Good luck.

Unfortunately, collecting this energy tank makes something that happens much later luck dependent. There is a nearby savepoint so you could reset until you get it, but I'd recommend just using savestates for this part if you take the extra energy tank. If you are attempting this for some reason, then feel free to ask me where this luck dependent part is (or, better, if you are there yet).

I created a seed that gets you powered up quick!

Following the standard vanilla route, you will quickly find morphball, powerbombs, spacejump and the gravity suit... and that's just in blue brinstar! You will have all of the goodies by the time you leave green brinstar and be powered up to fly though the rest of the game!

Classic questions pose themselves once again: Where do you go? Which is the fastest way to beat the game?
Seed is quite open/fast, prone to speedrun. Items are distributed like in Major/Minor split. HF!

Honestly, this is the hardest plando I've ever made, and it is one of the hardest on this site. Too bad the preset difficulty only goes up to master, because this is actual masochism. The rando solver does not even think this is possible, but I assure you that it is. I have fully tested it, and it took more time than I'd like to admit. I realized with objectives, it is now possible to actually make this plando I had planned out awhile ago. The only objective is killing SpoSpo (I would, in fact, prefer the planet started exploding at SpoSpo kill, but with the VARIA site you have to go kill Mother Brain).

The seed has area rando on (but almost all transitions are vanilla), doorcap rando on (but almost all doors are vanilla and there are no beam doors).

NMG, no L+R wall jumping, no TAS-only bs (e.g., frame perfect pauses). Fully tested.

The VARIA site now allows skipping Tourian, but I don't want to re-make the plando. You can just declare yourself done at killing SpoSpo if you want. There is a little bit more to it afterwards.

For the first time, I tried making an easier version. Note 'easier' is relative: It is still beyond 'master' level. But I think it is much more doable. Feel free to test and tell me it is still too hard, but I tried.

It follows the same ideas, but gives some extra items, gives some items earlier, and outright doesn't require some of the more insane bs. Note this easier version gives an entirely extra item in a hard to get to location that only helps with post-SpoSpo stuff.

Note these versions thus spoil each other. If you are wondering which one to try, just try to get the first three items in the harder version.

I 100% completed this Plando to make sure it was possible, the escape might be the highlight of this run, be sure to have a lot of E tanks.

Area and start are randomized, loads of bullshit, but a different flavor, hell runs are required, softlocks are possible, so only save if you are 100% sure you can make it back to the ship. Duplicate items are intentionally placed, so there's more variety in my "meme locations", instead of just nothings, or missiles.

i don't really have much to say except i accidentally made it race protected, so i hope all the items are in the right place. my plan is to make a new one every month, and i swear varia is at shaktool.

Initially a Master difficulty seed, which I only slightly shuffled around. Major item locations, area transitions, and door colors, are as the seed gave me. My only plandomization is moving some minors around and adding etanks (for a total of 14+4, instead of the initial 6+3).
Least to say, it's a disaster.

Requires clipping inside the Maridia tube due to my minor shuffling. Morph, go to the right wall, and press up twice. Caution, this is a one-way trip!

Is suitless Maridia really required?

A tough seed for DeaxterHawk, to pay him back for the devil seed he gave me. But I gave him more etanks for Ridley :) Also, quality of life enhancements like Save Stations recharging you, and fast door/elevator travel! Enjoy! (Played and tested, it is beatable, just a little challenge from Suitless Lower Norfair and Maridia, but you can do it!

Energy is always post boss, so wrecked ship is like 90% Energy Tanks. There is some missiles but all majors are super early, You will end up with 330 powerbombs, and you will probably need most (unless you go for Ridley quickly)

minimizer-style plando with altered doorcaps. progressive suits. nerfed charge. Be careful with save stations. There is potential to softlock, so be sure you have back-up saves as you go exploring. (saves should be backed up automatically, but sometimes that feature can get weird if you load SAMUS B or SAMUS C)

also, this plando does not involve any x-ray shenanigans. in fact, i don't remember if i even put xray in the game.

Brief notes:
- No major glitches are required.
- You are never once required to walljump while underwater (even with Gravity Suit, let alone without).
- Every individual trick was tested without savestates. But...good luck completing this without them.
- There is no "frame perfect pause abuse" to survive with repeated pausing while at 0 Energy.
- I had more control over patches than the VARIA site allows, so try not to make any assumptions about the various softlock prevention / area layout patches.

An important note: I was trying to streamline working with the patches. It apparently did not work too well. This doesn't affect the end user, EXCEPT the animals door crashes the game. No idea why, since I didn't touch any animals patches, but whatever too lazy to fix it.

Finally, my computer did crash so I had to re-make this plando. Thus, I fully playtested an "old" version and I don't really feel like doing it again. Therefore, there is a (very small) chance that I messed up while re-making it. This would most likely happen due to messing up a door cap, since I let the rando handle all doors that are "unimportant". Feel free to contact me if you think there is a mistake.

I made this plando in a bout of insomnia. I just finished playtesting, but I am not sure I can recommend it to anyone. Good luck.

Note the version I playtested had some extreme softlocks in late game. I did some very small changes to get rid of these. However, you can still very easily softlock in early game.

- For the escape timer, don''t panic. I finished the escape while using less than half the time. So it has a lot of buffer room. I didn''t want it to be a time crunch.
- I made this plando by having an idea for the END of it, generating a base seed, and then making minimal changes to make it a reality. I then removed some items that seemed extra. Then some things that were required looked impossible, but life finds a way.

For a normal logic randomizer this is impressively difficult. I randomized this game, it wasn't a planned seed.

How will you escape?

I was bored last night so I made a plando. Unlike most of my other plandos, this one is *not* an area rando or a boss rando. It's designed to feel like a really trolly seed you might roll, and stuff like g-mode and x-ray climbs are not required. Lots of missing items, but no hidden items. ENJOY!!

The premise, I guess, is morph is as late as I could make it.

No area rando, no boss rando, no VARIA tweaks, and no softlock prevention patches. Thus, it is necessarily pretty dependent on x-ray glitches. Also somewhat repetitive at times.

It's fully play-tested, but it took me weeks. This includes testing and stuff, but still. One part, in particular, is very obnoxious...

If you get stuck or there is a mistake or something, you could message me. Easiest is probably on Discord. I am new to Discord and not active: it says bobbob 4799, but who knows.

I deleted some more spoiler-y comments that were here, since I decided I didn't like them.

This is just very trolly seed. I enjoyed it! There are some very long hunts for items at the beginning.

This one is quick and pretty easy. I made it as an experiment and not much thought went into it.

The name is the game, ALL bosses past the "tutorial" (finding Morph + PBs) are pretty much doable in any order, but sub bosses help a lot to reach main bosses.
Each boss unlocks "weaknesses", shortcuts, or simple movement advantages for our beloved MegaWoman Samus.

I made this plando purely around one trick that I wanted to be in it. There are still many other tricks...

As said, this is my first area plando, and thus possibly not well thought-out. Some notes:
- No VARIA tweaks or softlock prevention patches.
- Underwater wall jumps are not required.
- Bosses are randomized with entrances. Sorry if you enter a boss room too early...
- It is quite easy to softlock (especially before power bombs) at save stations. I would recommend when saving at the ship, to copy that save so you don't have to go back to the beginning if you softlock.

Finally, this plando is VERY hard.

Update: I had some time and fixed the thing that made this near impossible. So, spoiler warning, I will sort of say what this is below.

I added one shot block to one room, in SMILE. (Note this isn't editing a block to be a shot block: a shot block was added.) It is obvious. I only checked the area around this, and didn't replay the whole seed, so sorry if this broke something and please tell me if it did.

This isn't my preferred fix, but my preferred fix was harder to do. So I will live with this.

This is at least the first plando I made where I seriously thought about some of the doorcaps, and used them to my advantage. Note this plando is very challenging, beyond "master" difficulty. If you get stuck and want a hint, feel free to message me on Discord. Good luck.

Semi-important comments:
- Underwater walljumping can sequence break some stuff. So don't do that please? (hi-jump-less)
- Some of the layout patches or softlock prevention patches were removed, if they interfered with my plans. So watch out for that. I left the other ones in.

Unimportant comment:
- I was having some difficulties with empty item spots becoming missiles. I was too lazy to fix it correctly, so I just placed copies of already acquired items at any location that I thought could be accessed before first intended missiles, and left first intended missiles as "empty". This worked in my test run. If you think you sequence broke a missile, please tell me and I'll fix it.

This was intended to be gimmicky, not hard. But then when I tested it, it was pretty hard.

IMPORTANT: Do not save in Lower Norfair unless you are ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN you will not hardlock. It's suggested to copy a previous save file before entering LN so you have something to fall back on just in case.

Hard seed but not impossible. Named after a friend played it and described it as barely tolerable.

(Beta, I may update this for balancing.) This is a full area+boss door rando. It uses the "minimizer" settings but it plays more like a full game in that it uses the full world and requires you to traverse much of it to win. It uses beam doors + door color changes too. The basic idea of this seed is to create a seed with multiple possible paths through it. I planned and tested a few intended paths, but there may be more that I was not aware of. The seed is beatable using only "regular" techniques but designed so that players can benefit from more advanced techniques. I have tried to make items accessible in different ways and made ways to skip most items, while still making a challenging seed that makes you work to find items to progress.

This is an area boss rando that does require Xray climb. which is the hardest part, and more of a testament to Rando Tech. As the title suggests once you start there really is no wrong way to go just a couple challenging points. There will be portions with suitless stuff i.e Hellruns and some wet stuff

After Samus took a long vacation, the space pirates underwent a very deep remodeling of Zebes, putting in all the stupidest stuff they could... now you have to get to the bottom of this monstrosity and defeat mother brain, after completing two of the following objectives;
- Kill Ridley
- Kill Draygon
- Clear East Maridia
- Clear West Maridia
- Clear Upper Norfair
- Clear Lower Norfair

No OoB, L+R, pause abuse, or artificial items are required.

Anything and everything can be changed about the game in this plando including but limited to:
Door colors, Room layouts, Enemy Health, vulnerabilities, and damage.

This ROM was specifically made to torture JoonieJoone.

Don't play this seed, it is as slow as it gets

Basically I made a seed where it's way easier to sequence break into random spots. Experiment a bit with where you can go, because I moved some majors around to be in more convenient spots. Also, expect a couple more super missile tanks than usual.

"Hard mode" of Super Metroid, intended to be quite difficult. All items present, but progression is locked down significantly. Intended to be done with "vanilla" gameplay; no glitches (even things like Mockball) required, though obviously you're welcome to use them. The solver doesn't think this plando can be finished even on the master setting (with all techniques known), but you can finish it just by normal gameplay (you do need to be good at wall jumping). I hope it's fun :)

No major glitches or memory corruption allowed. This was playtested.
One room in Lower Norfair was changed to allow for my routing, you'll know when you see it.

I made this for mm2nescartridge because he's always saying bad things about springball. This is a minimizer-style plando (area and boss transitions are mixed, and you can escape boss fights at any time) but all 100 locations are in the game and all item locations have an item.

NOTE: this does not mean all items are in the game

Save often, and keep in mind your previous 2 saves will be stored in case you softlock.

A fairly easy redistribution, most areas allocated with one ammo type scattered about and items mostly spread out to make pickup common. Most suit upgrades are collected right before they would be useful, albeit with a few exceptions that shouldn''''t make much difference. Phantoon is fought with Varia, Ice, Charge, and maybe two energy tanks, so this is somewhat difficult, but everything else should be fairly simple. 100% can be achieved in 2 hours easy.

The name is based on comedian Ryan George''''s Pitch Meeting catchphrase "Super Easy, Barely an Inconvenience."

I decided to make this for Joonie after watching him play through jailsonmendes' "Super Mega Easy Metroid" hack.

Glitches required, this is my 4th plando on the plandository, nothing special in terms of numbers but I'm continuing with my naming theme of them. Trying to make plandos with new ideas and not reusing anything from previous ones I've made, and this one checks all the boxes. All major items available, no single intended path, some obvious softlocks are possible.

For this plando, I decided to mix things up. In order to complete it, you will need to utilize the following cheat code: 7ED82C 00.

What does this “cheat code” do, you ask? Don’t worry about it. ;) You’ll figure it out when the time comes...

Area/door/boss rando. Boss and area transitions are mixed, and you can exit boss fights at any time (minimizer/boss rush). There are no hidden items. Anti-softlock patches, VARIA tweaks, and area rando layout patches are applied.

Major glitches, single-wall suitless underwater walljumps, and pausing to survive with 0 energy are not required and thus discouraged.

Use of savestates is intended and encouraged, as needed. GL! :)

The First Plandomizer made I made! It uses some strange checks and some Area Randomization to completely cut players off from Maridia and Wrecked Ship. However, it uses Scavenger to compensate and allow you to complete the game. I hope you enjoy it!

In this plando, Samus gains all high powered items early, 330 super missiles, and by the end Mother Brain will be absolutely obliterated!

Reuploading this with more details, can't delete the old one though, already forgot the key, recommended boss order is Ridley, Kraid, Draygon and lastly Phantoon, you should definately do the Billy Mays room as soon as you can since speed booster and plasma waits there and don't forget the mockball room to the right when you enter green Brinstar.

So, to make it short.
This is an actual seed, given by the Varia website. Not a plando.

There is a special gimmick with 100a and 100b - you''ll be hellrunning, in *every* room you''re in!
The health drain in seed A is about half as of vanilla, or quarter of vanilla in seed B. Seed B therefore should be much easier.

Moonfall and other gimmicks won''t be required, it otherwise all follows Master logic. No items are missing. To make it possible, you''re starting with 3 etanks.
My tip - don''t refill immediatly at the ship, it''ll leave you with less health than you start with. Run! And copy your saves over to avoid softlocking by saving with too low health.
I recommend making save states in case the patches go wrong, too. I''ve tested it for a while, but, you know...

Remember Norfair has heated rooms - you''ll lose health twice as fast there. If you find Gravity, it''s progressive - you''ll lose health twice as slow.
